There is a saying birds with the same feathers flock together.
Association is related to Success, association with successful people/leader will bring you fruitfulness.
What makes a person successful or failure? Is it his incompetence? Everyone has a potential and capable to develop his God given gifts and talents. No one is created empty. I learned that to become successful we need to BELIEVE (faith), DETERMINE (an attitude of not giving up until he sees the result) and OBEDIENT (submission to God and leaders).
Moses however, had these qualities and yet he didn't able to bring the people to the Land of Promise, instead he himself was not able to enter it. While, his apprentice Joshua was the one who were able to lead the people to conquest and led them to enter the promise land. They were both obedient, determined and believed God.
I heard from a well known pastor that "culture is more powerful than anointing". An anointed evangelist also says that one thing that God was not able to change was the "mind setting of the Israelites". Therefore, "People factor" has something to do in reaching the goal which means that success of a person is not just a product of his determination, faith and obedience but of his associates, who are willing to support and help him achieve the goal.
Joshua became successful by having the BDO (Believe, Determine, Obedient) formula plus the people who supported him along the way of his conquest. Successful leadership and achieving goals are the result of having....
1. Right people with the same mind setting with the leader.
* they are looking in the same direction with their leader
* they have the mind of the Master mind
* they love where they are even in times of pressure, discomfort and demands
* 2 types of person (draining - take your strength, daing ng daing; recharging - give you strength, nagbibigay ng pag-asa)
*you don't need to be wealthy, famous, good looking to become the right person, ALL YOU NEED IS TO HAVE THE POSITIVE AND POSSIBILITY MIND SETTING FULL OF HOPE, Jesus is our example.
Philippians 2:5
-8 Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,
6
who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited,
7
but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form,
*Obedient people are the true servant.
* team player, not indifferent, immediate, fruitful, productive, hardworking, result-oriented, no BEC (blame, excuse, complain).
* obedient person are productive and fruitful, they take the command and take action so the result is productivity.
Philippians 2:8 he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death— even death on a cross.
3. Supportive people with unconditional submission to reach the goal.
* prayers - his prayer is his breath and God's Word is his bread.
* moral support - encourager, positive perspective in light of God's promise, reliable.
* loyalty - trustworthy, exemplified and incorruptible character, back to back of the leader.
* finance - his joy is in giving and help to make the task lighter, never count/compute what he gave.
***Moses hand was lifted up by Aaron and Hur while Joshua with the armies fought in the battle.
Exodus 17:11-13 So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. 12But
Moses' hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him,
and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side
and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sunset. 13So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.…
*TRUST YOUR LEADER AS HE TRUSTED YOU. - "When somebody select you to be one of his disciples, it means he likes you and trust you"- BOMB
* Followers are where leader go. Jesus commanded us to GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES.
Moses and Joshua carried the same DNA, they only have different associates that determines their failure and success in reaching their goals.
Who is with you in facing your 2014 challenges?
Reference:
Joshua 1:16-18
16 Then they answered Joshua, “Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses. 18 Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey it, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!”
Numbers 14
After the Israelites heard the report from the twelve men who had explored Canaan, the people cried all night 2 and complained to Moses and Aaron, “We wish we had died in Egypt or somewhere out here in the desert! 3 Is the Lord leading us into Canaan, just to have us killed and our women and children captured? We’d be better off in Egypt.” 4 Then they said to one another, “Let’s choose our own leader and go back.”
5 Moses and Aaron bowed down to pray in front of the crowd. 6 Joshua and Caleb tore their clothes in sorrow 7 and said:
We saw the land ourselves, and it’s very good. 8 If we obey the Lord, he will surely give us that land rich with milk and honey. 9 So don’t rebel. We have no reason to be afraid of the people who live there. The Lord is on our side, and they won’t stand a chance against us!
10 The crowd threatened to stone Moses and Aaron to death. But just then, the Lord appeared in a cloud at the sacred tent.
